A's vs Red Sox

I'm not really sure why I'm attempting to blog again, it could be out of boredem, but here I go.

Sara and I went to the A's game a week ago to watch them beat the Red Sox (thanks for the tickets, Wests!). I'd say 50% in attendance were wearing red so I couldn't let them be there without being heckled! YYYOOOOOUUU-suck, go sit down. We stayed until the 11th inning and I would say more than half of the crowd had left. Then we left and the A's won. Maybe we shouldn't go to anymore games if that's how they're gunna play it!

Anyways, here are pics (the main reason for this post? Maybe)

A wedding is coming!

Yay, Emily and Matt are engaged! Let me tell you, those were the hardest 6 weeks of my life. Emily and I talk pretty much every day on AIM, and we talk about everything. Not having anyone to really talk about it with, I told Sonja first, but she just didn't have the same reaction Emily would have (of course!). I couldn't tell anyone that could possibly ruin the surprise, so I found solace in my mom. She was just as happy as I was to hear the news and it was fun to have this secret together. The ring that Matt ended up getting is gorgeous! Princess cut with small stones surrounding it and embedded in the band. I still prefer the round cut myself, but I wouldn't say no to that ring either!

Matt also planned the perfect proposal. It was at the house they met at, in the same area of the yard they first talked, and he pretty much recreated their first conversation. He told me that he wanted it to be more "romantic" with candles and flowers, but just that idea is romantic! She was totally surprised (even though he made a few slip ups on the way).

Now comes all the fun stuff for them, the planning! After all that Matt went though just for the proposal, I think Em will have a good partner. No date yet, but really, who had a date the first week of their engagement?

I love you both and wish all the best for you!

Alright, so those first two posts were my attempt to get myself back into this whole blogging mode. Its been about 3 years since I've actively blogged, and even then, it was more of a emo journal than anything of importance... not my emotion aren't very very important.

I finally got around to watching An Inconvenient Truth. I figured if I'm really going to go into the environmental part of chemistry I should know what the rest of America knows. And it turns out I already did. I can't believe that there are still people doubting that global warming is a problem. Really people? REALLY? It's also unbelievable that our government is so bought-off that we haven't ratified the Kyoto Protocol (not that its very effective, but it is an acknowledgment to a problem).

Ok I'm done ranting about that, partly because it does me no good to write about it here, and partly because I started writing this post almost 2 weeks ago...

And there you go!

Don't mess with me.
